The title of the Book of Ecclesiastes comes from the the Latin Vulgate heading, Liber Ecclesiastes. The writer calls himself Qoheleth, which was translated in the Greek Septuagint as ekklēsiastēs. The Hebrew qoheleth is probably related to the Hebrew word qahal, which means assembly. So it may be a title or the name of one who leads or addresses the assembly of the people, hence, the writer is often called “Preacher.”
